TimeLogic's FPGA hardware is typically in use for more than five years (substantially longer than most servers), yet it retains value even at the end of it's utility. For instance, if your institution needs increased computing power for sequence analysis to cope with burgeoning reference databases, consider trading in your older DeCypher hardware.

With TimeLogic's electronics recycling program (e-Cycling), you can return older hardware to Active Motif so that it may be repurposed internally, donated to academic partners for software development, or simply to minimize the environmental impact of disposal.

Why recycle electronics?

1. TimeLogic is building partnerships with academic researchers to adapt genomics software for use with TimeLogic systems. Older hardware helps minimize costs involved in delivering a development system to these partners.
   
   
2. Environmental benefits - The EPA estimated that the United States produced 2 million tons of electronic waste in 2004 alone. Mercury, lead, and cadmium and other toxic substances from e-waste can leak into groundwater or create cancer-producing dioxins when burned.
